M40A2 106 mm RECOILLESS RIFLE MUNITIONS

M346A1 HEP-T

Type: High Explosive Plastic with Tracer
Weight (Complete): 16.97 kg
       (Projectile): 7.72 kg
Range (Minimum): 50 m
      (Effective): 1200 m
      (Maximum): 6870 m
Burst Radius: 20 m
Anti-Armour Class: D
Penetration: n/a (8 per fragment)
DPW: 8174
Packaging: 1 round per fibre tube, 2 tubes to a wooden case.
Packaging Weight: 43.13 kg
NOTES: Primarily for use against armour. Detonation of the
explosive charge sets up shock waves that cause "spalling" or
chipping of the interior armour surface. It is effective without
penetrating. The projectile is more effective against sloping
armour than against vertical armor. It is also very effective
against bunkers, weapons positions and troops.

M344A1 HEAT

Type: High Explosive Antitank
Weight (Complete): 16.90 kg
       (Projectile): 7.72 kg
Range (Minimum): 50 m
      (Effective): 1400 m
      (Maximum): 3000 m
Burst Radius: 20 m
Anti-Armour Class: C
Penetration: 1000 (8 per fragment)
DPW: 936
Packaging: 1 round per fibre tube, 2 tubes to a wooden case.
Packaging Weight: 54.48 kg
NOTES: Designed for use against vertical armour and is more
effective against "sandwich" or "honey-combed" armour that the
H346A1 HEP-T round. The conical shape of the filler is maintained
by a copper cone which forms a slug when the filler is exploded.
This slug may or may not follow the explosive jet through the
armour.

M581 APERS-T

Type: Antipersonnel with Tracer
Weight (Complete): 18.75 kg
       (Projectile): 8.72 kg
Range (Minimum): 3 m
      (Effective): 3300 m
      (Maximum): 3300 m
Burst Radius: A cone up to 300 m long x up to 138 m wide
Anti-Armour Class: n/a
Penetration: n/a (6 per flechette) roll 1d100 to see how many hit
DPW: 28
Packaging: 1 round per fibre tube, 2 tubes to a wooden case.
Packaging Weight: 60.84 kg
NOTE: Designed for antipersonnel purposes only. The projectile
contains 9000 flechettes (fin stabilized fragments of steel). The
flechettes are dispersed and are projected forward in an 18o cone
by the rotational force and velocity of the projectile. A yellow
dye mixture is expelled with the flechettes, spotting the point
of functioning. The tracer element in the projectile is visible
for 5 seconds (2195 m). The fuze can be adjusted so that it
functions at muzzle action or at ranges from 200 m to 3300 m. If
the fuze is set for muzzle action it will function when it is 3 m
from the muzzle. The cone of flechettes at the 50 m point; 15 m
wide/ high, at the 100 m point; 31 m wide/ high, at the 150 m
point; 46 m wide/ high; at the 200 m point; 62 m wide/ high. If
the fuze is set at any range between 200 m and 3300 m, it will
function 137 m short of the fuze point, to allow optimum coverage
of the target area. At the target point (137 m past fuze point)
the cone of flechettes; 43 m wide/ high, at the 50 m point; 59 m
wide/ high, at the 100 m point; 74 m wide/ high, at the 150 m
point; 90 m wide/ high, at the 200 m point; 106 m wide/ high, at
the 250 m point; 122 m wide/ high, at the 300 m point; 138 m
wide/ high.
